Kindergarten Math Game of the Month
Our recommended Kindergarten Math Game for the month is Roll and Record. In this game, players practice their addition facts as they add numbers from 1-12. Of the game, our Kindergarten Teacher, Clare Maloney, says, "Around January we are doing the Marble Factory unit. So I would say 'Roll and Record' 2-12 and 3-18 would be great!" 1st Grade Math game of the month
Our recommended 1st Grade Math Game of the month is Counters in a Cup. In this game, players practice combinations of 10 by hiding counters in a cup. Of the game, our 1st Grade Teacher Nicole Caraboolad says, "It would be great to highlight the game 'Counters in a Cup.' The game is on the website, the children will be playing it in the classroom, and it was featured at game night... 2nd Grade math game of the month
Our recommended 2nd Grade Math Game for the month is Doubling Dice. In this game, players roll numbers, then try to double them... breaking them into friendly tens and ones to help with this. This game was created and developed by our very own 2nd Grade Teacher, Mecca Culbert. In a glowing review of the game, 2nd Grade Teacher Holly White says, "Class 2M10 played 'Doubling Dice' for a Family Friday. It was a huge hit. 3rd Grade math game of the month
Our 3rd Grade Math Game for the month is Multiplication Top-It. In this heavily adaptable game, players multiply cards to see who has the bigger product (and play can be adjusted to make the game a perfect fit for 4th and 5th graders). 4th Grade Math game of the month
Our recommended 4th Grade Math Game for the month is Division Compare. In this game, players practice dividing cards to see who has the greatest quotient. Of the game, 4th Grade Teacher Megan Greco says, "I think 'Division Compare' is a great one because it forces kids to think about reasonableness and what answer makes sense. Our recommended 5th Grade Math Game for the month is Number Top-It: Decimals. In this game, players try to create the largest 3-digit decimal number possible. Of the game, 5th Grade Teacher Maureen Stewart says, "I think the game 'Number Top It: Decimals' would be a great game to highlight for the blog post for 5th grade (since that's our next unit, too...).
